Brubakken is now offering a brand new electrical forklift to the market – the Merlinum Electric Forklift. A new brand originating from the industrial cluster in Ljungby, Sweden.
The forklift has a lifting capacity from six to nine tons and is powered by a 1240-1680 Ah lithium battery. Compared to a forklift of the same features powered by fossil fuels this machine is both more cost-effective and environmentally friendly in use (reduction of 24k kg Co2 per 1000hour in use compared to a similar forklift powered by diesel).
With its electric power generation, the noise level is significantly reduced and the ergonomics of the driver is improved by enabling the driver to adjust the desired positions of the seat and pedals. It is in fact the first forklift in the world to have electrically adjustable pedals, so that the driver can set the ankle angle that is most comfortable.
The market for forklifts above 5 tons is today dominated by diesel-powered machines, and it is highly encouraging that the customers are given a more sustainable alternative. For smaller forklifts, there have been several electrical forklifts available for some time.
The forklift will initially be available in Sweden and Norway, and thereafter the German market.
“As the leading independent forklift service and machine provider in Norway and Sweden, we have always been successful in introducing new brands in the market. The Merlinum world premiere is proof of that. It is also important that the industry is given a more sustainable alternative”, says Bård B. Ingerø, Chairman of the Board at Brubakken.
