Blueway’s founders took Reiten onboard as a partner for growth in an exclusive deal. The plan was to expand from flying ad-hoc short-term contracts in Norway to long-term contracts within the global oil and gas industry.
Sales grew 5.7x through international expansion
In addition to its onshore business Blueway operated helicopters all around the North Sea with bases in Norway, Denmark, UK and Holland, and in Nigeria, serving international oil clients such as Shell, Maersk and Statoil. Sales grew from NOK 220 million to 1 070 million during Reiten’s ownership. The size and geographical reach attracted trade buyers and the Dutch group NHV acquired it in 2014.
