During Covid-19 Vow ASA has signed two new contracts; one with a large European shipbuilding group for and advanced wastewater system (AWP) and the other with one of the largest recycling companies for waste sorting robotics (AI).
The advanced wastewater system (AWP) contract totals EUR 2 million and will be delivered in 2021. Henrik Badin, CEO of Vow ASA comments; “During this challenging period of COVID-19 for the cruise industry, this contract demonstrates a forward-looking industry maintaining high focus on environmentally sustainable growth. We are proud to continue our cooperation with this yard following six earlier successful deliveries to sister vessels”.
In addition, Vow ASA has signed a contract with one of the largest recycling companies for ferrous and non-ferrous metals in Europe on an application to sort out copper parts in ferrous waste streams. Waste sorting robotics based on artificial intelligence (AI) is a game changer in waste management and particularly in metal scrap industry. This industry vertical alone represents a market potential for Vow ASA of more than 1000 units in Europe.
“Even if this is a small order, it is a milestone contract for us. I’m also impressed by our teams being able to industrialize this advanced solution for our markets within only 18 months”, says Henrik Badin, CEO of Vow ASA.
The sorting solution is complementary to the group offering for waste processing, recycling and valorization. It will contribute to circular economy, saving natural resources and reducing CO2 emissions.
